Golden Prince Hotel & Suites : Our Story

Being a management trainee in Golden Prince Hotel and Suites has endowed me with numerous opportunities even at my young age of 22. It had taught me different levels of professionalism that opened my path towards career growth and development. I am very grateful because Golden Prince is unrelentingly helping me harness my full potential, equipping me with sufficient knowledge and skills, and pushing me up to achieve my goals. A million thanks to the Golden Prince management!

As Head Chef of both Golden Valley Hotel and Golden Prince Hotel and Suites, I am very happy and proud to say that I have been part of the company for almost 15 years in good service and now still continuing to learn as a chef. I have had many blessings and opportunities from the Lord Almighty through the company by sending me to a variety of seminars and culinary demonstrations that has given me knowledge as a cook and a leader.

There are two words I would use to describe my on-the-job training at Golden Prince Hotel and Suites so far: interesting and impressive.

I have been in the training program for only a short while now but I have already learned so many things. When I applied, I never really expected the training to be this intensive but the orientation made me realize this was not just any OJT programme, this was the real deal. The 1,440 hour requirement overwhelmed me at first, but later when I received my training plan, which specified my training programme down to the very last hour, I was impressed by how detailed it was. It was so unlike what

I had expected and it looked like the management really put serious thought into how OJTs should be trained. The first department I was assigned to was the Front Office department and the experience was priceless. I was patiently taught by the Front Office team leader everything I needed to know and she made sure that I knew it all by heart before she let me do actual work. I was given tasks gradually and every time the tasks would carry more responsibility than the last.

My performance was evaluated from time to time, and it determined whether or not I was to be given more responsibility. Within two weeks, I had firsthand experience in everything a Front Office clerk does, from phone and walk-in reservations, to radio communications to other departments, and to checking-in and checking-out guests. It was truly a remarkable experience, and I loved it!

I realize that I am truly lucky to be part of the training programme at Golden Prince. I don’t think I could have found a better hotel that would let students experience the work at such close proximity even though the risks are high. Now, I am truly looking forward to working and learning more as I move on to other departments.
